LA WEIGHT LOSS: Employee Alleges Unethical Closing Practices
October 17, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment
Sarah states that she was encouraged to sell long-term contracts prior to closing:
“A FEW DAYS AGO I WAS GIVEN THAT INFORMATION AS WELL. I LEFT MY POSITION AT L.A. WEIGHTLOSS 2 WEEKS AGO BECAUSE I KNEW THAT SOMETHING “FISHY” WAS GOING ON. I WAS TOLD VIA MY SUPERIOR THAT, IN NOT SO MANY WORDS, I HAD TO CONFORM TO THE RULES OR SEEK OTHER EMPLOYMENT. THE NEW “RULES” WERE TO CALL PEOPLE ALL DAY AND BASICALLY ASK THEM TO COME BACK IN AND TRY TO SELL THEM SOMETHING, ANYTHING!! IM SORRY TO SAY, BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT I WAS HIRED TO DO NOR DOES IT MAKE ME HAVE THAT “FEEL GOOD FEELING ABOUT MYSELF”…. I TOTALLY SAW WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND WAS KINDA FORCED OUT SINCE I WASN’T BEING A GOOD ROLL MODEL TO THE OTHER EMPLOYEES. ( I HAD WORKED THERE QUIT AWHILE). I UNDERSTAND THAT THE ONES STAYING OPEN ARE ONLY OFFEREING ONE TYPE OF PROGRAM THAT NEEDS TO BE PAID FOR BY C.C. AND HAS AN AUTO RE-NEW CONTRACT ON IT TO BE CHARGED EVERY 6 WEEKS… WHAT THE ????? IM NOT HAPPY ABOUT SEEING THIS COMPANY GO THROUGH THIS, BECAUSE IT IS A GREAT PROGRAM, BUT JUST THINK THAT NEW AND CURRENT CLIENTS SHOULD BE “SMART” AND DO THEIR RESEARCH PRIOR TO JOINING “ANY” KIND OF PROGRAM IN THIS BLEAK TIME.”

LA WEIGHT LOSS EMPLOYEES: “How do you sleep at night?”

How do LA Weight Loss employees sleep at night?
That was a question asked in a recent email sent to us by a woman who had entrusted an LA Weight Loss employee with several thousand dollars of her hard-earned money… money she could not afford to lose.
She recounted how the woman had looked her straight in the eye and told her they were in this together, that they would work as a team to help her meet her goals and start a whole new era in her life.
The next week she returned to find the door locked and her team, like her money, long gone.
“Losing that much money was devastating, but that wasn’t the worst of it,” the woman wrote. “I felt absolutely violated. How do people do that to other people and be able to sleep at night?”

A former LA Weight Loss employee, who was in prison for a credit card refund scam while she worked as a customer service supervisor for LA Weight Loss in Horsham, was convicted of a new scheme to smuggle prescription drugs into prison. Nice people.

“A Hatboro woman will serve probation for conspiring with another woman to smuggle prescription drugs into the Montgomery County Correctional facility where they were inmates last year.
“Lisa Sauter, 35, of the 2700 block of Kentner Road, was sentenced in county court to four years’ probation after she pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to violate state drug laws…
“Tressler said the probationary period will run consecutively to the one- to four-year prison term Sauter received in connection with a probation violation stemming from a separate 2004 conviction in a theft-related case…
“Sauter, according to court records, pleaded guilty in 2004 to a charge of theft by deception and was sentenced to seven years’ probation in connection with her role in a credit card refund scheme while she worked as a customer service supervisor for LA Weight Loss in Horsham.
Authorities alleged Sauter stole more than $21,600 during her involvement in the scheme…
Sauter admitted to the violations and a judge revoked her previous probationary sentence and imposed the one- to four-year prison term against her.”

La Weight Loss ex-employee warns of closings. Don’t prepay!

“I also am an ex-employee of LA Weight Loss. I do not know when this company is going under but if they are not I will be VERY Shocked!
I for one loved working for LAWL and will miss helping my clients but felt completely lied to all of the time by our owners! As part of our jobs we would sell large bulks of product that the clients would pick up at their weekly visits, this could run up into the $1000.00’s easily! No longer knowing if you are unknowingly lying to your clients about product coming in, whether they would receive refunds and rebates that they were waiting for, whether they would ever receive all of the product that they had invested in made many of us lose our sleep at night!
I believe that the plan works and have saw it change so many peoples lives, however to much pushy sales and greed has run this company in the ground! So Very Sad! I am just waiting to hear any day that LA Weight Loss is no more! : (” Anonymous Employee
