I also was a member, I actually had very good luck with the center in Billings, MT. I loved everyone there and they were extremely helpful. I stopped going after I reached my goal, but after I gained about 10 pounds back, I was telling a co-worker that I was going back later that day and that's when I was told they had closed. I too was paying for lites that I had not received. I went to their website and wrote email after email, and FINALLY someone DID contact me back and I did receive all of my LA Lites, I was very surprised. The lady was nice and very helpful. Not sure how happy she'll be that I did this, but here's her email!! jdavenport@la-weightloss.com. It took her a couple days to get back to me, but she did and she followed through with everything. Good luck!!

I joined LAWL in January 2007. I lost the weight i needed to .The location that I was attending in Monroe, LA closed with little warning in February 2009. I was due a refund for completing the program. I had also bought extra lights and to this day May 2009 . I have yet to see my refund or my lights. I called the credit card company that I paid for my lites on and I am disputing the charge. Don't know if it will do any good but its worth a try to get some of my money back. I would never recommend LAWL to anyone. They are a ripoff. Don't see how they could be bank rupt. They way over charged for all their products. I know they were making a killing on all of us.

But you know what they say about karma. It always comes back to get you.

I went to la weight loss for about 1 year. A couple weeks before they closed I purchased extra bars. I then e-mailed them to get my money back and they said I would have to send money for shipping and handling to get the rest of my bars and that they would not reimburse me my money. LA Weight loss did help me with the 'one on one' counseling and I lost 25 pounds and have maintained this for several months. I am sure this makes an impact on joining other programs that help with weight loss but I guess I will still be on to another program--but I do have this on my mind. Also, I don't know why la went out of business, they had a good diet but something must have went wrong. I still say even though I was helped with losing weight I was still ripped off as others were too.

Hello former LA Weight loss clients, I would like to advise that I received the same emails that Chelsey received. I have to say I was extremely upset, to put it politely. My wife and I had just returned to the center in October paid our money and 6 weeks later we are told the store would be closing. With NO success was I able to get a refund.

This leaves a very sour taste in all of our mouths, it would be nice to see those who founded LA Weight loss hold true to their word of a refund, but I won't hold my breath.

I had the same experience , I was lucky that I didn;t pay a whole lot but I called up my credit card company and they told me that the only was to get money back is 90 days after you give it to them and that since they had filed for bankruptcy that it would be impossible now .

Hi everyone, i replied with a comment earlier. well lastnight i was on here and did what Sara and Margo said about the credit card company. well good news, they siad they're looking into it and with 30 days when they did the proof about the receivership they will credit the money. Everyone should at least try it what have you got to lose?

What do i do about Care Credit and the unending collection calls because I refuse to continue paying LA Weight Loss when they are in breach of contract. I had already contacted corporate office for a refund for medical reasons and had given documentation from my doctor to my local center. I was having a hard enough time getting anything done there (still hadn't received refund). I had gone 3 times a week, purchased bars and supplements, and was still owed products that I had already paid for and never received. Now, a collection agency is wanting me to pay for the rest of what was owed if they had stayed open. Is this even legal? Can a corporation no longer in service collect on services not given? I received at least 23 phone calls in the last 48 hours!
