L.A. Weight Loss Atlantic Canadian Franchises to Close

According to the CBC News, all the L.A. Weight Loss Atlantic Canadian franchises will be closing Dec. 5, 2008.
There are a total of nine L.A. Weight Loss franchises in Atlantic Canada, and all will be closing their doors for good on Dec. 5, putting about 40 people out of work. According to the report:
“Franchise owner David Shneer told CBC News Tuesday that things have been tough for a while, but the ongoing global economic crisis has made it impossible to stay in business.
“He added that many consumers do not think weight loss is a necessity when times are tough.
“Clients who enrolled for longer-range programs can obtain refunds, he said.
“Pennsylvania-based L.A. Weight Loss has seen other franchises close over the past month, including operations in Oregon, Montana and Wisconsin.”

I’m hoping someone can help me. I had just been a member of L.A. Weight Loss for 2 months after purchase a full year plan, when it was announced that all Atlantic franchaises would be closed. As stated in the news David Sneer promised re-funds. I have been trying since the end of December to contact someone to help me. L.A. head offices had told me that I needed to contact Mr.Sneer himself, which I have been trying to. Has anyone else been able to get a refund? I can not afford to through away that kind of money on a service that I haven’t even recieved.
Extremely Frustrated
I too am going through the same thing I joined in nov o8 in Moncton New Brunswick.After 3 weeks i was told they were closing for good aand i would automatically receive a refund. i hae not received my refund or have i heard back fom Mr David Sneer. I too feel frustrated and ripped off,i worked hard for my money and saved it and paid cash for a service i did not receive
