I live in Colorado and from what I have been told all the centers in the state will be closed by the end of August I signed up for something called LA to go where supposedly someone from corporate will call me 3 times a week and I can pay for product and they will ship it to me free of charge.. I am beginning to wonder about that after reading all the posts. This is a real bummer as it was really working for me. - susan

WHAT HAVE YOU HEARD?

Jackson Tn is closing
This company should have been closed when you changed the name. I see how this company stole my money and every one’s and has gotten away with it so far. I hope that the head of the entire operation can be jailed for fraud scam for having this type of business.
I do not understand why Pure weight loss was allowed to open up under a different name. Somewhat of the same situations happened under the name L A weight loss.
I paid for the program (signed up in Late spring of 2004) and end up getting sick and having several surgeries and continuted to inform (updating them) L A weight loss about my health condition. I was informed at that time in the fall of 2004 by Jan the manager during that period (which I noticed that they had a revolving door with employees, but was not sure of what was going on with the company) that I could restart the program over and nothing would change with my plan and that it was no need to stop my monthly deductions since I would not be losing anything.
However, I also gave her a note from my doctor questioning, why she was not informed about the food prodcuts being offered in their program, before she as my physcian ok’d me to be on the diet plan. After, Jan read the note from my doctor she convinced me that several items offered in the plan would not be required (L A lights, etc.) for me to have on the plan and also that I would be Guaranteed to keep the program that I signed up for without any extra charge and there was no need for me to cancel the auto monthly payment.
I continued to follow up (on a monthly basis) at the Schaumburg office in Illinois with the Medcial Tech. (Nikkie) due to her being the only person of the office that remianed to work their and knew my medical history situation. Later, I learned that the Med. Techs. of the company where layed off during the early spring of 2007, since that postion was being eliminated.
I followed up with the present manager (Tytiana) and she told me that I would need to restart the program over again in paying for it as well. I explained to her what I was told by one of the ex managers and also the med. tech (Nikkie) that I had 52 weeks left. She said no you do not have any weeks lefts, that time ran out. I explained that I was not in the program due to having many, many, surgeries and I was given this permission by one of the previous managers and that I continuted to inform L A weight loss about my condition and was always being told your weeks are still there.
The last time I was in their office the last week of 06/2007, after calling the headquarters several times I was required and referred to meet with Jill the head manager of the area in Illinois. I met with Jill during the week of July 4th 2007 (before the holiday) and she asured me that I would get my complete 52 weeks back and there was not any other fee for me. She stated that all she needed was updated information regarding my medical condition (i signed a release form to send to my doctor). Jill said, that she would be in contact with me soon (in about 7 business days) once the report from my doctor was returned back to their office. I followed up with my doctor to see if any health inquiry was sent to her from L A weight loss for me and she told me she has not received any type of inquiry from L A weight loss.
I tried calling Jill the area manager time after time (two weeks after the 4th of July 2007)and also the headquarters again and never could get anyone to answer the phone at that time. I noticed about three weeks later that the name had been changed to Pure weight loss, even thou the name changed, I found out it was the same company, I tried to contact someone by phone numbers of the L.A. weight loss but the numbers where disconnected. To this day no one from that company has ever followed up or tried to contact me in any way (by phone, mail, no contact at all). It seems like the attorney general of all states should really go after this company. How where they allow to stay in business, and keep doing the same things to consumers that started while in business under the name L.A. weight loss. I would actually like my money, because really my program should have been cancelled, once I started to experience health issues, and a note was also received from my doctor to their office, and I had many surgeries during that period. If there is anyone out there that can help with this matter, please contact me.
Regards,
Diane W. (Illinois)
I was told yesterday my center is closing o 8/29. I am upset. They mentioned an LA WL to Go Program talking with a counselor weekly. Anyone heard of this and how it is working (or not). They said all centers in Colorado are closing.
Judy:
What center do you go to?
I am the owner of one little center in Palm Springs Ca. and I can tell you how my heart goes out to all of you. I go to work everyday and I am there to help all my clients, because I myself have lost 80 lbs on this program. The program is a good program, the problem is the management of the centers. If there is anything I can do for anyone feel free to email me or call our center 760-296-3716
The days and hours of the Jackson, TN LA Weight Loss had been cut back. I was not quite half-way through the program. I had prepaid for bars and supplements as well. I had NO idea that they were closing, but went by to see if they had gotten in the flavor of bars that I had been waiting on FOREVER, and they were closing that day and had no bars. I was told to drive to Memphis to continue. I also had noticed that a few of the snacks and smoothies that I had picked up the week before were out of date and was trying to return them.
Does anyone know anything about the Tennessee Class Action Lawsuit? I’ve seen references to it on several sites here, but don’t know how to join in on it.
LA Weight Loss store closing rumors updated to include Colorado and Indiana centers.
LA Weight Loss Members & prospective members: Prepay at your own risk!
I am in Colorado. I just signed up inJune and found out last week the centers were closing. I paid about $400 up front and about another $100 for La Lites. So far I am losing weight but very nervous about this “On the Go” thing. I don’t think a simple phone is going to cut it for me! I wonder what are my options at this point. My center is suppost to close the end of August :(- Has anyone had any luck getting any money back?
Could somebody please tell me where you are getting your info from on centers closing? It’s crucial for me I work for LA weight loss.
If you want the truth about LA Weightloss, speak to any former employee.
It is a HUGE scam.
The motto during training for the sales staff is….
IF THEY CRY THEY BUY
I was FIRED due to the fact that I asked if there was another option in lieu of embarrasing people. Also asked “too many questions regarding ETHICS”
These people are ruthless. DO NOT signup. The staff is intimidated into selling you those stupid candy bars you can get them chearper at the super market.
Many of the people they hire are so desperate for a job they dont question the ethics, or dont even know the meaning of the word.
The training staff calls themselves the “Stepford Trainers’ They are like robots and are brainwashed. They are like a cult and if you dont fall into the “CULTURE” (their wording not mine) they torture you.
The weak survive the strong are fired with no notice or explanation.
The trainer I had told others in my class I was on drugs and that is why they fired me. I am not a disgruntled former employee, I am in fact someone who is embarrased to admit that I fell for it.
BARTLETT WILL BE CLOSING AUGUST 29,2008 AND ALL OTHER MEMPHIS CENTERS WILL BE CLOSING AS WELL I WLL KEEP YOU UPDATED.
My center closed In Jul and I was given a number to call for my refund. I have call and left messages and no response. Any ideas on how to get your refunds from the this Company? HELP
Jerlene:
Which center did you go to that closed? What number did they give you to call?
Did you pay with a credit card?
Center I attened was located at 1729 Briargate Blvd. The number: 1877-524-3571. I paid with a CC back in Feb 2007, when I starting the program.
Is that in Colorado Springs, I assume? (Thanks, Google Search)
I had been going to the center in Sherman, Texas for over a year. The management changed in the spring and I thought it was trouble then. Most of the people working there left. Everyone except the one lady who belittled everyone and made customers feel bad walking in the door. Soon our miss personality was named acting manager, so I started going only once per week. Why go in on a regular basis to get beat up.
Anyway, I was out of town for a few weeks in June and when I came back our center was GONE. No calls, no notice, nothing. I had lots of product paid for, but not received.
I have tried to reach corporate, they quickly sent an e-mail that they would send 12 boxes of lites of my choice, they showed that was my credit. When I asked what about the other product, they did not have my file or my information. I am very upset, I had several months paid for. Close to $600 in product and can not find anyone who will honor the debt to me or give me any straight answers.
I felt like the program was decent and it was helping me, but this is nuts.
Does anyone one have any suggestions on how to get my product or money back?
Just wanted to post a note and let every client know that if your in a closed market, either one that was franchised owned or one of the corporate owned take over centers, and you call the corporate office in Horsham, PA: if they try to tell you they do not know how much you had bulked or what you balance is in pre-paid product because they do not have your records, it’s a bald faced lie.
Almost every center in the country used a point of sale system that Corporate provided to every store called SlimPOS to track all customer information and sales. This program contacted the corporate servers everynight and updated all information and transactions, including every client record, weigh in, bulk products balance, etc… They have a database record of every client in the country (millions of them) and know exactly what you were owed when your center closed (unless the center failed to update there records properly, which does happen from time to time, but Corporate has audit controls in place to catch this to ensure all clients and revenues are being properly reported to them for the revenue share that is due monthly). Hope this helps - pass this along to anybody who might be interested.
I just wanted to let you know that i was a la weight loss employee for 10 years in cookeville tn. our owners turned us over to lato and they did not tell us for 2 weeks what would be happening and was very short with there answers. As it turned out they lowered managers pay and i was one and my councelor decided not to except there offer. I found out this evening from a employed friend that they are closing the nashville market in october . I feel extremely bad for all employees and the clients and how it all gets done and that is the main reason i could not stick it out. I loved my job and all the clients that i helped and the friends i made a long my journey with la weight loss. I pray for the best to all that is still with them and to all the clients .I very much believe that they had a great program but the way they have chose to do business was wrong and when you dont handle things the correct way it bites you know where… love to all
